Five Letters: how to play
Guess the hidden five-letter word in six tries.
Type a five-letter word and press Enter. Each letter changes colour:
- Green: right letter, right spot.
- Yellow: in the word, but somewhere else.
- Grey: not in the word.
Try it on the board
Green: right letter, right spot. Yellow: in the word elsewhere. Grey: not in it. Keep guessing.
You have six guesses. Guesses must be real words.
- Race: everyone gets the same random words (1, 3 or 5). A solve scores 7 minus your guesses (6 for a first-try solve). You see the others’ colours, not their letters.
- Today’s word: the same word for everyone today, worldwide.
- Hard mode: hints you’ve found must be used in later guesses.
